  • I created The Velvet Cigarettes to explore building a complete band identity across both visual and digital platforms. The goal was to move beyond single designs and create a cohesive, immersive brand.

  • The project is aimed at young adults who are into indie and alternative music, and are drawn to vintage, expressive, and slightly rebellious aesthetics.

  • I built the identity around contrast, soft vs. rough, romance vs. chaos. I used grainy, imperfect visuals, bold type, and a stripped-back color palette to give everything a gritty, late-night feel. The designs are meant to feel a little messy and alive, like a real indie show, loud, nostalgic, and slightly unpolished in the best way.

U.S. Tour Poster.

The tour poster captures the raw energy of a live indie rock show through a collage of black-and-white concert imagery and a Polaroid-style frame. Bold red typography contrasts with the monochrome visuals, making the band name stand out.

Additional elements like vinyl textures and instrument shots add depth, while the overall design feels gritty, nostalgic, and high-energy.

Velvet Motel Mobile App.

The app is designed as a central hub for fans to fully engage with The Velvet Cigarettes. It allows users to stream music, purchase merch and tickets, and access behind-the-scenes band content, and so much more all in one place. The interface is clean and easy to navigate while maintaining the band’s gritty, vintage-inspired aesthetic.

A premium version of the app offers exclusive perks, including early access to unreleased songs, creating a more immersive and rewarding fan experience.
